getting alone with God
My Testimony

I was born into a home that knew about Christ and knew about the Bible.  Both of my parents are born again believers and my father is a pastor.  My mother comes from a long line of Catholic people with nuns and priests in the mix.  The way she was saved was through the death of my oldest brother who I was told only lived for a few hours.  So, I was born into this family and started my life there.

I was born with a very rebellious and proud personality.  This caused many issues for me with my parents as I was growing up.  I learned to obey eventually and was saved when I was young.  I became very active in our church (remember, my father is a pastor) doing whatever needed to be done.  I taught classes, played music, led in prayer, knocked on doors to invite people, went witnessing, became a youth pastor at different churches, and eventually started preaching.

When I graduated from college, I applied to a seminary in Texas.  The deacons at the church I attended wrote me letters of recommendation and I was accepted.  I was so excited until I heard that a few weeks before school started, my letter of acceptance had been revoked.  The explanation that I was given was that the deacons at the church had taken back their recommendations and thus my application was incomplete.  It was at that time that issues began with the church leadership to where the deacons felt they were the ones that needed to run the church.  My family was kicked out for standing up to the error and we were removed from fellowship.

So, I was not able to go to seminary school.  But, life as we know, had a twist for me.  My wife and I moved to Dallas and there we met a pastor who became my mentor.  He taught me things that I had never understood or seen before in the Word.  He encouraged me and discipled me.  It was through his teaching that I learned about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  I sought it and finally received it.

What I teach are things that God has shown me.  I read the Word a lot and also read other books by Christians.  I am always looking to learn more about God and His Word.  I am very flawed and it is only by God’s mercy that I have become what I am.  I thank our Lord Jesus for dying for me and providing the means to have a relationship with the Father.  His love is endless!

Wherever God leads me, I’m content to know that I am there for Him.  There are things in my life that God is still working out in me.  I want to be the man that God wants me to be.  God has been kind to me and I know he loves me!
